This is Millie's favourite step, at the entrance to the playroom. She likes to sit there and sing "hello everybody" or serve people meals or draw all over her body and clothes with felt tip pens. In this picture, she was in the middle of making me supper. Her latest favourite words are "hey", "sure" and "ok".

In the picture underneath, Yoav and Millie are enjoying a bath with "naughty soap". It sprays out like shaving foam and the first time I showed it to Millie, it scared her silly. She shooed it away and called it "naughty toap"!

Elinoa came with me to one of my photography sessions and I had a great time photographing her. I may well be biased, but i do think she has such a beautiful face to photograph, its such a pleasure...

Wow! We are doing really well at the moment getting the kids to pose for photos, and we even got a photo of all 5 of us (after 18 attempts..) The kids really enjoyed their Thanksgiving break (for the majority of us who really have no idea what Thanksgiving is about, see this great site here which explains it all www.history.com/minisite.do?content_type=mini_home&mini_id=1083
Most importantly, Thanksgiving means finishing early Wednesday afternoon and not going back to school until Monday! The kids have had so many lazy days of sleeping in and late nights watching DVDs, they are going to find Monday tough!
New Millie words/phrases/songs: Stop it, dont touch, ice cream, change mimi nappy, fekfork (breakfast), Klunch (lunch), foken (broken), tickle, sticker, daddy go ferk (daddy went to work), aye yai yipee (she'll be coming round the mountain).
Yoav has started ice skating lessons and was doing so well after his first lesson, i think he is going to be really good at it. Elinoa wants to have drumming lessons...hmmmm...

I'm happy to hear that some one out there is reading our blog!

A few people have asked us to take a photo of the outside of the house. I was outdoors with Millie today in the back garden so I took a few pics of the house & the garden (I said to Millie "Mummy is just going inside to get her camera" and she said "Mimi?photo?")

As you can see from the photos, the weather is beautiful today - last night however it poured for hours and there were heavy storms which knocked down trees and destroyed houses in some parts of the country! So, kind of confusing when deciding what to wear in the morning..
At the bottom of the garden we have a little stream and a bridge, which the kids think is very cool. Its about the only thing they get excited about in the garden - we did buy a swing set but its still sitting in a box in the garage with missing pieces which still havent arrived. Good to know it doesnt just happen in Israel!

Millie attended her very first birthday party on Sunday! She talked about it non-stop after she received the invitation and was so excited that finally she was invited to a 'birday - partee'. Millie's friend Paige had a party at a local gymboree center with singing, dancing, bubbles, pizza and cake - when I asked Millie if she had a good time, she said "fun"...

James and I went to Washington DC from November 1st-2nd. We drove down to DC and spent the evening at a comedy club called the DC Improv, where we saw a hypnotic show. The next morning, James had a business meeting so i enjoyed the hotel gym and did a bit of shopping. In the afternoon, we took a tour on an amphibous vehicle called a Ducw (pronounced 'duck'), which was used during WWII. It was a bus which could also function as a boat, so in 1.5 hrs we managed to see most of the famous sights of DC by land and water! After the tour, we hooked up with a long lost relative (Lou) who is now living and working in Washington - that was majorly exciting! Here are a few pics that i took from the duck..

The kids made toffee apples covered in caramel & sprinkles. Here they are in our succah with their apples. They had a great time over chag and really are beginning to enjoy being in shul, at last! Yesterday was Columbus day and we took the kids to a Columbus day carnival. All the proceeds from the carnival go to rebuilding the North of Israel. There were inflatables, fairground stalls, arts & crafts, horse rides, face painting, music and magic shows. It was a kid's dream and a parent's nightmare!
Millie's vocabulary is growing every day...

Here are the kids getting on their school bus. It comes for them every morning at 7:30am and brings them home around 4:00pm. They have been getting it for the last month now and the novelty of seeing it pull up outside the house still hasnt worn off for any of us!

This photo was taken last Sunday when we went apple picking at a nearby farm called Demarest http://www.demarestfarms.com/. The kids all had a fantastic time! Elinoa really enjoyed comparing all the different types of apples and Yoav got such a thrill picking the frut straight from the tree. Millie ate her way through the outing and spent the whole day saying "bapple, bapple!".
The kids have settled in to life in the USA- they still havent got used to the amount of adverts interrupting their favorite TV programs though! Yoav gets especialy irate when 'Animal Planet' http://animal.discovery.com/ is interrupted. School http://benporatyosef.org/ is great - a very small and intimate establishment where the kids get a lot of attention. Millie goes to 'Morah Gitty' three times a week . Her friends there are Paige, Sydney, Elisha and Hannah and she can say all their names in her own way. She learned to sing "dip the apple in the honey", though in her version, its "dip the bapple in the baby". Millie has just started to say Elinoa & Yoav's names ('no no' and 'av' ) which the kids are really excited about. Elinoa & Yoav are really looking forward to the autumn and are already really enjoying the acorns and sycamore everywhere.
That's all for now
more soon.....

So, we've been in New Milford for almost 2 weeks now
No photos yet because our camera is broken and new one is on the way.
The kids are having a great time in school and settled in so easily.
I am slowly finding my way about the place and learning the new language.
Millie is as happy as ever - yapping away, stringing words together ('good girl', 'more Elmo' 'kick it'), counting to 10 and doing the 'hokey pokey' with her hokey pokey Elmo ( i'm sure it was the hokey kokey when i was a kid..)
Yesterday was our first proper Sunday together - we took the kids to Central Park Zoo and to Times Square, they had a great day. We need to polish up our navigational skills a little though, they must have walked for miles.
Photos coming really soon...

Elinoa had a huge sleepover party last week to say an official goodbye to her best friends. The party was a big hit - the girls decorated pink t-shirts, watched Bratz, ate lots of junk and finally fell asleep around 11:30pm. They were up again at about 5:45am and were eating pancakes in chocolate sauce by 6:30am!

This is one of the nicest photos I have taken of Elinoa recently. Elinoa finished her second year of school and is now on vacation. She is at an art camp at the moment making all kinds of wonderful things and having a great time. She just finished reading 3 whole 'chapter books' (as she calls them) and got a pair of crocs as a prize. She is really looking forward to August when she is going away with two of her very good friends (and all the mummies & daddies too!). Posted by Picasa
This photo was taken in our garden last Thursday, after Yoav's magic party. Millie still has her plaster on her head from when she fell. Elinoa is wearing her very glam most fave dress and Yoav is in his magician pjs ... Posted by Picasa

Millie is 15 months now. She has her second pair of very beautiful red flowery shoes. Last week she fell off a chair in the garden and cut her forehead so she has a very fetching red scab mixed in with some glue supplied by the emergency room.
She is really into Dora the Explora at the moment, as well as her on-going love affair with Thomas the tank engine. Her favourite book is still 'Moo Moo goes to the city' which she has loved to pieces. Her favorite pass-time is looking through books, as well as singing & dancing.
When i put her in the car today i said "the car is very hot" and she started blowing..bless her. Most used word of the moment is 'more' - very useful, especially when requesting another ice pop from the freezer...
Most popular words are:
ice (ice pop)
wet
ichs (yuck)
choco (chocolate milk)
choo choo
moo moo
Dora (the explorer)
Tubby ( teletubbies)
